Emergencies
Most of the time, dental emergencies occur due to trauma – a bad fall, a blow to the teeth or any other accident. They include, among others, the avulsion of a tooth (complete displacement of tooth), dental fracture, tongue or lip biting and/or lacerated, swelling and abscess. Indeed, when someone has neglected to seek treatment for a severely decayed tooth or a serious gum inflammation, acute infection is likely to happen and could cause a major discomfort. Some situations require intervention as soon as possible, hence the importance of consulting a dentist as soon as possible.
We invite you to consult the Ordre des Dentistes du Québec website: http://www.maboucheensante.com/en/adults/emergencies
It gives recommendations to follow in order to relieve temporarily the discomfort.
