Dental extraction/surgery

In some situations, despite our best efforts to keep a tooth, its extraction may be necessary. Because such treatment is certainly a irreversible process, it is very important to establish a proper diagnosis and to explore all possible treatment alternatives before taking the final decision to proceed to an extraction.  A poor or desperate prognosis can be attributed to:

  • a non-restorable tooth (that can not be processed or repaired),
  • or a tooth with the loss of surrounding bone is too advanced (causing tooth mobility or infection).

The extraction is done under local anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.  The edentulous space that follows can easily be restored in many ways including a bridge, a denture or the placement of an implant.  Please ask us for details!
