cleaning
The dental cleaning, more specifically the scaling and the use of a prophylactic paste, is a primary prevention against the appearance of dental caries and periodontal disease (gums and underlying bone). It also allows for a more accurate dental examination. The cleaning is used to eliminate the presence of plaque (food debris forming a biofilm on the tooth surface) and dental calculus (calcified plaque). We normally recommend such treatment every 6 months. Sometimes a closer hygiene control is necessary, which requires cleaning more frequently. It is important to remember that good home hygiene habits remain the best way to maintain oral health. For more tips, feel free to contact us!
