Crowns and bridges
What is a crown?
A gold crown placed on the tooth
A crown is often compared to a hat, with a shape of a tooth, that completely covers a severely decayed or heavily damaged tooth. Thus, not only it can improve the masticatory function (reducing the risk of fracture and wear of the tooth), but it can also help restoring the shape and the original shade.
With the dentist’s recommendation and and the patient's agreement, the crown can be made entirely of metal, a metal-ceramic alloy or entirely in ceramic.
… and the bridge?
A three-unit bridge that restores the edentulous space
The bridge, also called fixed partial denture, is recommended to replace one or more missing teeth. Whether it is composed entirely of metal, an alloy or in full ceramic, it consists of several units, known as bridge abutments, attached together to fill up to the edentulous space.
The bridge will prevent the movement of remaining teeth, improve chewing function, promote digestion and restore the harmony of the smile and aesthetics.
